The Hermit + 6 of Cups Reversed
Welcome, Zen Collective!
It’s been a minute since I’ve done a collective reading like this, and I felt inclined to share. I know, I know…I have to get better at being consistent with these things, but MOTHERHOOD. I’m currently in the toddler trenches and have a newborn to get ready for, so bear with me as I try to push out this content. Anyway…
Today’s collective reading consists of The Hermit and 6 of Cups (reversed). Let’s get into the message.
Lately, you might have been feeling as if you’ve been charting down a lonely road. You’ve been left to keep the light on for yourself amid your healing, and for some of you that’s been tough. For others, you’ve been welcoming this stage of loneliness because it’s given you a chance to connect with yourself. For others, you feel the call for solitude and are ready to answer. No matter how that resonates with you, The Hermit appears here to let you know that a little bit of solitude can be a good thing. Party of One sounds good in comparison to what you’ve been dealing with when it comes to other people.
Perhaps you’ve been seeing people for who they truly are, have realized that you need to focus on yourself a bit more, or are simply in a space of healing that doesn't require too much interaction from others. Growth is in these realizations and embedded in moments of quiet. Though the silence can feel strange, it might just highlight that you were the one doing all the talking or filling the space with your voice and energy. Now that you’ve withdrawn or plan to withdraw, what does the environment feel like around you? For a lot of you, clarity is coming out of this hermit mode. It’ll feel like a breath of fresh air. Fresh ideas, new thoughts, blessings, mindset shifts and renewed confidence is buried under the snowy and cold feel of The Hermit card.
The 6 of Cups reversed serves as a reminder that what you’re isolating from shouldn’t be considered a loss. It served its purpose. If you’re going through a breakup, think about the good the relationship has done and think about the separation. Is the separation for a good reason? Is it over for now so that it can grow back better than ever? If you’ve separated yourself from some family members and friends, how do you feel now that the separation is in effect? Yes, it might sting, but what have you gained from no contact? While in the upright, the 6 of Cups usually represents nostalgia and revisiting past experiences, but I want you to go into this card not dwelling on that. It’s okay to reflect while you’re in hermit mode, but I want to warn you not to get stuck in nostalgia’s stronghold.
The past is the past and this hermit mode is meant to set you up for the future. The past is meant to serve as your guide through this period of reflection and shadow work; not overtake you.
